Trash Piling on Sidewalk of Jalan KH Mas Mansyur

Although there is a ban on disposing trash to the road, yet it is still ignored by vegetable traders who sell along Jalan KH Mas Mansyur, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta. It makes trash piles easily seen on the left side of the road until disturbing beauty and spreading rotten smell. Ironically, there has been no further action from local apparatus.

I already know and often warn them (traders), but they ignored it

Based on beritajakarta.com observations, various types of trash scattered on the street until sidewalk. Besides making slums, such trash also disrupted road users because has spread rotten smell.

"I wonder why trash was scattered on the street like this. We're distracted by the smell," complained Yusril (38), a motorcycle of Yamaha Mio B3398 SEU when he passed through Jalan KH Mas Mansyur, Thursday (9/4).

Man who live in Cideng Timur also deplored the attitude of the local headmen who seemed indifferent to the condition. Whereas, the existence of trash piles on the street side has ruined the beauty of the city and spread rotten smell. "Supposedly, the headmen, either the urban village or sub-district heads must be concerned at this problem," he exclaimed.

Head of Tanag Abang Sub-District, Hidayatullah disclosed trash along Jalan KH Mas Mansyur is from vegetable traders who sell in the morning. They are commonly reluctant to clean up trash after selling their wares.

"I already know and often warn them (traders), but they ignored it," he stressed.

He explained that trash piled up on the access road towards Tanah Abang Market area has made the city becomes slum and ruined the beauty of the city. Trash is only transported by janitor in the afternoon.

He promised to review the location and order the vegetable trades at the site in order to obey the rules not to dispose trash haphazardly. "I'll warn them soon," he finished.
